After finishing his graduation from the prestigious Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni, in 2011, Dr. Bhavik Shah joined Choithram Hospital and Research Centre in Indore. He commenced his postgraduation in the Department of Internal Medicine under the guidance of esteemed faculty at one of the country’s premier institutes. Over the next three years, he learned the art of medicine.

In 2015, Dr. Bhavik worked as a Consultant in the ICU at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune, where he proficiently handled medical emergencies. In 2016, he was selected for an illustrious super-specialization course in Gastroenterology in the Department of Gastrosciences and Liver at Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, under the guidance of Professor Mahesh Kumar Goenka, a pioneer of therapeutic endoscopy in India. After completing his super-specialization in December 2018, he continued to work as a Consultant in the Department of Gastrosciences and Liver at Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata.

During his tenure as Consultant, he also trained under Professor Dong-Won Seo in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), an advanced tool used to diagnose various abdominal diseases, at Asan Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea. He further completed advanced third-space endoscopy training in Leuven, Belgium, under the mentorship of Professor Zacharias Tsiamoulos. Dr. Bhavik was associated with the Department of Gastroenterology at Apollo Multispeciality Hospital, Kolkata, for almost six years.

Before moving to Raipur, Dr. Bhavik attended an intensive advanced procedural workshop in EUS and ERCP at Aryavart Hospital, Meerut, in 2020.

Dr. Bhavik is the proud recipient of many national and international awards, the most prominent being the Best Young Investigator Award in India (2017), Best Paper Presentation at APDW (Asia Pacific Digestive Week) 2019, Kolkata, Best Paper Presentation at WEO (World Endoscopy Organization), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and the Outstanding Endoscopy Award at one of the world’s best hospitals — Asan Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea.

Presently, Dr. Bhavik, who is fluent in five languages (Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, and English), serves as the Chief Consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist, and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist at Shree Narayana Hospital, Raipur, and Balco Medical Centre, Naya Raipur.
